Ranking Philadelphia’s forwards
PHI still has six players on its Covid-19 list and they won’t play tonight against the Rangers, nor will they travel to Lake Tahoe for the outdoor game this weekend. That list includes D Justin Braun, which is manageable, the Flyers can make up for a Justin Braun absence. Up front, though, it gets a lot more challenging. Travis Konecny, Scott Laughton, Oskar Lindblom, Jakub Voracek, and Claude Giroux are out.
Let’s rank the remaining Flyers forwards:
Sean Couturier
2 G, 2 A in 3 GP
James van Riemsdyk
7 G, 11 A in 13 GP
Kevin Hayes
6 G, 5 A in 13 GP
Joel Farabee
6 G, 6 A in 13 GP
Michael Raffl
2 G, 3 A in 13 GP
Nolan Patrick
2 G, 3 A in 13 GP
Nicolas Aube-Kubel
8 G, 11 A in 58 career NHL GP
Connor Bunnaman
1 G, 2 A in 29 career NHL GP
Andy Andreoff
A solid AHL forward who has 25 points in 173 career NHL games.
David Kase
1 G in 6 NHL GP last season
Maxim Sushko
4th round pick in 2017, has not scored much in the AHL or KHL
Samuel Morin
11th overall pick in 2013, No points in 10 career games, moved from D.
Digging Deep
Tyler Ennis (1% Yahoo) landed on the Edmonton Oilers taxi squad after not doing much early in the season. He has returned to the lineup and he is not merely in the lineup but has replaced Dominik Kahun on the left side with Leon Draisaitl and Kailer Yamamoto. Ennis has a goal and four assists in the past six games and as long as he is getting a shot with an elite scoring center like Draisaitl, it’s worth keeping an eye on him. Maybe this will not last for long but any kind of production in that spot will be an improvement on Kahun, who has just five points (2 G, 3 A) in 18 games.
