NHL training camps are underway and this year’s edition of my NHL projections is ready to go.
The NHL has seen a veritable offensive explosion in the past couple of seasons and that has pushed individual scoring totals higher.
Last season, 19 players scored at least 40 goals and 11 players put up at least 100 points. A decade ago, in the 2013-2014 season, there were three 40-goal scorers and Sidney Crosby had 104 points. He was the only skater in the league with more than 90 points that season.
That uptick in league scoring also presents challenges for goaltenders. It’s difficult enough to forecast goaltender performance, but now that they are getting beaten more frequently, there is a greater variance between the very best goaltenders and the rest.
The projections are in a Google Sheet here and you can make a copy and manipulate the numbers however you like, applying weights that are suited to your own league settings.
I contributed to the McKeen’s Hockey Yearbook again and will be writing 20 Fantasy Points on a weekly basis for McKeen’s again this season.
My full-time writing home is now with Pinnacle, where I will have plenty of hockey coverage. Drop by to check it out and you can always find my content on Twitter, Threads, and Bluesky. I’m sure I’ll have more hockey content here, too, if it doesn’t fit with those outlets.
Once again, the projections are in a Google Sheet here. Enjoy!
Thanks so much! Currently locked behind "Request Access" though.
